Also, anyone catch this tweet? That would've been especially awkward if he biked up in nude attire a la the latest sia vid. He could've played the demented man though. Am I a horrible person for actually wanting Shia LaBeouf to ride up on a motorcycle in nude colored shorts claiming Murdoch as his daddy?

Well we've already had him infatuated with the tooth fairy so anything's possible this season.

An interesting episode. I enjoyed it. Lots of things in this one to chew on. A bit spooky in places but I like this kind of spook! Great to see Dr. Bajjali again although the end was unexpected and shocking. I like the woman. Rather out of character for her and the exchange between her and William in the end was like a battle of religions. Hmmmn. Did William just cast a spell on what family he has left to him??? OMG! . Poor Brackenreid kids. Go to spend some time with Pa and end up fishing up something for Uncle William. George again with all the research and clues. He does read and write a lot for someone who barely made it to grade 4. I thought William was supposed to be The Intelligencia! I always thought George was smart but they keep trying to have us believe he is a goon which he is not. It is obvious that the writers are clearly keeping Julia from Police Investigations. This is not looking good. She didn’t have much to do here either . Well, I guess they were just trying to make an ode to the final Indiana Jones movie. The blonde haired lady couldn't let the cup go and then she died. If William's faith has been wavering recently I suppose it's reinstated full force now. That was literally the hand of God, not a 'fake' version as was seen in the temple. I could be wrong but I think they keep changing the kid actors. Last season the eldest boy had straight blond hair. This season he had curly brown hair. And they've changed them before that too! What gives? I'm really glad he's writing another book. His ideas are always entertaining. Perhaps this will lead to another webseries even? William Murdoch and the Temple of Death. It seems like her having issues with a corset is the most we'll be seeing of her for the rest of the season. As an ode to Indiana Jones, I liked the episode fine. It even makes sense that she died at the end. I've given up trying to keep the Brackenreid boys straight. He's got two sons-but I would have thought that they would both be older than what they were shown to be tonight-given their age in Glass Ceiling. I totally want another Web Series! Weren't we just discussing one? I really hope you're wrong about Julia for the rest of this season. But I have a feeling that you're not.

Fun episode with a lot more research done than I would have expected. The ending is quite shocking. No Jilliam at all though which was disappointing as I wanted Julia to get jealous. Doesn't look like there'll be any Jilliam next week either as they are out in the woods again. Julia was barely in this ep except to make one short speech. I don't like this marginalization. Hard to say if there's any Lemily stuff happening or not. Haven't given anything away yet, assuming they do at all. Anyway, I enjoyed the ride and George's allusion to Murdoch as the swashbuckling introverted hero of his latest story. Who also happens to be afraid of butterflies. xD Oh and I loved the continuity all the way back to the first season! That was awesomesauce! There's continuity back to first season? And fear of butterflies? That does sound awesomesauce! But Julia still MIA...? No miracle babies gonna get made that way...

Now that we have some distance from being a downer about the wedding, I totally agree with you about Julia, and I'm grouchy at the writers about it. But in truth half of it might be the way Helene Joy negotiates her value as an actress by remaining available for other jobs. Unlike William at the picnic, MM isn't closing the deal on her exclusivity.

As much as I was happy to see Murdoch coming back on my screen (as well as needing a relief from bad news for obvious reasons) I have to say that this episode fell short for me. Even if the storyline involving Dr. Bajjali is more interesting and tight than in the last episode she appeared, it was still too over the top for me (the electrocution by lighting was a clear reminder why "Evil Eyes of Egypt" in season 5 is the episode I dislike the most in the entire show). There were some good parts like the "drone" and George's much needed comic relief moments but overall I am disappointed.
What is going on with Julia (and Emily to that extent) being a WORKING woman in a time when it wasn't socially acceptable especially after getting married. Indeed, except for episode #4, has Julia been involved as a psychiatrist at all this season?!! Are hers and Emilys professional expertise sought after in helping with cases? Because I don't see it that much lately and it is a damn shame!!! Julia & William being apart in this episode is a missed opportunity imo (this dinner scene could have been really interesting and funny if Julia had been present.)
I still have hopes for this season but the pattern it appears to take regarding the involvement of our female characters is definitely not making it my favorite.

Plot twist: Shia LaBeouf is William's son by a steamy secret affair with Margaret.

I still have hopes for this season but the pattern it appears to take regarding the involvement of our female characters is definitely not making it my favorite. I get the distinct impression that the male writers can't figure out how to integrate female characters into their plots. They can only tack on "fan service" scenes, which they despise doing. Perhaps they need another female writer on the team and as a sounding board for ALL scripts.

No, I'm not jumping ship just yet, but I'm worried for female characters overall. If the writers think a few mentions of suffragism equals strong female characters, well, I beg to to differ. The suffrage plot isn't well-integrated into the police/detective plots, either.

Wasn't this the same week that Helene was in Heartland? Probably means they would have filmed around the same time as Murdoch. Could be why she wasn't in this one much. Doesn't explain the rest of the season though.

Unlike William at the picnic, MM isn't closing the deal on her exclusivity. I agree with you to a point, but I don't think any of the actors are exclusive to the show-they all have other projects. The writers seem to have dropped the ball this season in that they seem to think women=fan service. I think in terms of women, High Voltage was the best this season, and shocker-it was written by a woman (Carol Hay).

This is not looking good. She didn’t have much to do here either . I'm wondering if this is foreshadowing for what happens later in the season. You're right-it's not looking good for Julia. I always thought George was intelligent and well read-just a little too prone to the fantastical. While I think he needs William to keep him in check, I also think William needs to be more open-minded like George. They're a good counterbalance to the other. I believe it is a foreshadowing for what’s to come. It seems to me like one of those episodes where they lay the foundation for a future event. I do worry for Julia but there's still a fair bit to go till the end of the season. If Emily, the state coroner, doesn't seem to have much of a role in an active investigation, it will be even harder for Julia to be involved. Let's wait and see what happens. You’re right about George. I never saw him as foolish and it always pained me when they sometimes made him look so dim, like he can't spell or add up anything in double digits. William will be lost without him and I think he knows it. They are a good counterbalance to eachother, like you say and I hope the writers maintain that. I do like some of his fantastical moments though.

As far as Julia goes PM said at the 100th ep panel that they would be keeping W&J apart later in the season. I hope that doesn't mean for the entire rest of the season. I'm beginning to think they're taking the title a little too seriously now. Whilst William is still my favourite character I do like seeing the two of them together and definitely want more Julia back. What's happening to my fave programme? It may not be that much longer if things don't get back on track.
Later this evening I watched This One Goes to Eleven on City and was surprised at the difference in style between that and the newest eps. I think I liked the older ones better. The newer eps are much more slick and I have to admit I kind of liked the rawness of the older eps, they were much edgier.
