I liked that Charlie actually had a motive for planting evidence - he felt righteous in his own way. Inspector B saw his reasoning but also saw Charlie needed to learn the error of that reasoning before going into a career in law enforcement. I was reading the Twitter response ahead of the episode and a bunch of people were angry at Inspector B and never disliked him more. Because of that, the entire episode I was expecting him to side with Charlie and abet the planting of evidence! Then when he did the right thing after all, I was baffled why people were mad at Inspector B. Now I guess it's because he "didn't give a toss" about Emily? Or is it because he lectured Emily about the risk to her job...? Both were in character - I don't see why people were irked about him. I also see Emily getting "tougher" (those Middle Class roots showing?) and Lillian getting "softer"! I think they were upset at the inspector because of the nepotism and the way he was treating George and Henry.

FB just keeps getting stupider. Now people are thinking Lillian's in cahoots with Leslie for some diabolical purpose which will soon make itself known.

(almost as stupid as leslie working with gillies). Just cuz Leslie thinks he's the centre of the universe doesn't mean everything revolves around him.

I still vote that since Leslie is unemployable in toff circles, he's now some sort of "mob" lawyer. I can't wait to find out for who! I would like to see his return because I can imagine good storyline circumstances in which he could. But I can also imagine him dying as a dupe in the process. (Sorry Leslie). Hey maybe if we keep saying that thing about Eva exploiting the emotional rifts between William and Julia, we can make that happen, too! *focuses hard and uses Scanner powers*

LOL! Wow, now I really wonder what's being said on FB and Twitter. In everything we've ever said against Gemily, I don't think we've invited such a scolding.

I think they were upset at the inspector because of the nepotism and the way he was treating George and Henry. It made sense when the Inspector finally explained it to George, though. It wasn't just nepotism, it was trying to get a wounded man back on his feet, so to speak.

Yes, for me too. I can't really buy that part. Sure she was fond of him (at first) but I never got the impression she was in absolute love with him the way that George was with her. If that were truly the case, Leslie wouldn't have stood a chance. Perhaps it was a 50 Shades of Gray sort of thing: George loved the abuse, and there was a Domination contract somewhere off camera...

George has more than earned his stripes to be considered the 'head' constable. Even Brackenreid is aware of his value to William's investigations. The guy works hard. Brax was setting Charlie up to be universally hated by the other lads. How outrageous to make Henry give up his desk?? Brax can be hard headed and implacable but he is rarely so stupid. I was very glad about how his behaviour changed over the course of the episode. The 'word' he had with Emily was on point for both the times and his character.

Maybe he was counting on his own relationship with men he'd known a long time to support him after he explained himself.

And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate Peter Mitchell retweeted one particularly vile tweet so people could see what was coming through.......I checked the guy's profile and he was an extreme right wing, Tea Party sort, with a comment about the "Gay Agenda" taking over television (I've blocked him just so I don't hurt my eyeballs reading his crap ever again)........I suspect a lot of the negative posts are from people like him and Shaftsbury/CBC isn't too concerned with losing them, if they ever were actually viewers.....as for FB, there are a lot of regular posters who are coming forward to defend the episode.....then there are some who I think may have been watching some other Murdoch from the one I've been watching.......

I like Emily not being straight, because I'm not myself, but you just know it'll somehow end in tears with Lillian. It always does when they have gay characters in MM. I hope Lillian doesn't become a murder victim, Emily doesn't deserve that kind of trauma. Notice how she has more spark and more in common with Lillian than George. It's getting laughable now about how Emily has more spark with anyone but George. His showing jealousy over Brackenreid was expected, pfft he's not over her.
Julia will probably be Emily's only real support when it all comes out, going by Brackenreid's attitude. At least she'll be understanding as she's always been gay friendly. It was nice to have Julia back profiling on a case, there hasn't been enough of that this season. Hopefully there will be more. Emily taking centre stage in a case was also good to see. Two female centric episodes in a row, good.
Brackenreid's nephew is a scumbag, but they did a good job of casting an actor who could really be the nephew.

I forgot to say that sometimes I struggle to like Brackenreid. He's had a horrible attitude to Emily and Julia this season. Overall I'm fond of him, but he needs a slap sometimes, and one of these days either of the girls will give him one.
