I insisted hubby wear a 3 piece suit for our wedding. He was reluctant as they weren't in fashion at the time but he complied. Didn't wear the pocket watch though. I insisted hubby get a 3 piece suit custom made at Christmastime. It's not his thing either, but as usual, he humored me. Ooooh - I bet you liked taking that off! And I bet he liked it more once he realized you liked taking that off! On what sort of occasions does he wear it? btw, how goes your own corset-hunt? Now I'm intrigued.

Aw, what did he have against the pocket watch? Men expect women to do everything in there power to look good. I don't see why they resist doing what women say make them look good. They insist on cheesy mustaches or beards, too. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy? Clean-shaven men in vests rule! (bonus points for glasses!) Didn't think of the pocket watch back then. He only got his grandfather's pocket watch when his mother died. Lost it in a fire but I got my great uncle's pocket watch when my dad died. He's now into repairing and restoring watches with an interest in pocket watches. Can't get him to wear a suit much at all these days. They went even more casual at work too, now he wears jeans. I was hoping they'd go in the opposite direction and go back to suits. The first company he worked for in Canada had a 'uniform' of sorts as the owner was a former US marine. Business suit, white shirt, sedate tie, hair had to be short and not touching your collar. Women also had to wear a business suit with white blouse. Those were the days....

I'm waiting until I get few more paychecks in my acct. before I get a custom corset made-I may even wait and see if I go back to the States this summer, and be sure that I'm measured properly. There was a place in SF I always wanted to try, but I think they closed their storefront, and now only do Internet orders. As for the suit, he'll be wearing it next weekend when we chaperone a VD dance. He hasn't had an opportunity to wear all three pieces at once, although he wore the vest and trousers a couple of weeks ago, and you guessed it, he got lots of compliments.

The boys at our school who play sports always dress up on game days, and they always get lots of compliments when they wear their trousers, dress shirts, and ties. No suits yet, but maybe they'll soon figure out their dressier clothes will score them more girls. As it is, they blush and stand a little taller when they get the extra attention. Seriously guys, ZZ Top said it best when they sang that women go crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man.

I feel like things are going to get awkward at SH.4 If I was Charlie B. I'd get a transfer somewhere else.

Well its good not to have to stress yourself getting too dressed up for work every day. Then you can save the fancy duds for DATE NIGHT!

Where can I investigate this fab historic lingerie? If you do visit don't forget there is a restaurant/bar called "Absinthe", lol.

We live (almost) in the middle of nowhere there's nowhere to go for a date without an hour's drive, not much fun ... unless we stay over.... I haven't got dressed up in so long I don't think I even have an outfit now, I own one dress, it hasn't been worn since we lived in Toronto and we moved from there in 2003!

You guys definitely need to make a Date Night of some sort! Perhaps you could build a gazebo and hold it there?
