Oh George....
The sequential killer may be Edna's husband, or whoever was watching at the end....
Loved Agnes McPhail.
Oh George....

I'm too upset to even being objective with the mystery plot. I don't know what the writers are hoping to achieve but I'm tired of not being charmed by the show, week after week they come up with something that is upsetting. George & Edna was NOT necessary, he seemed so happy and that story line is for soaps, I was expecting more from MM but I don't think I should expect anything at that point because I'm getting even more infuriated!!!! x( I probably will be engaging even less than usually in the conversation - sorry for that (so that means not so much) - as I'm getting totally fed up in how this season is turning!!! And don't start me with William professing to Myers that he & Julia are really happy (we haven't seen ANYTHING to prove that) and Myers get to call Julia a SALMON!!!!! I mean really what the F*** is happening to the show!!!!!! Breathe... What is your take on the 'why' of decision making that has been happening this season? The writers are taking acid But more seriously I really have no clue, my only assumption is that the writers (or some of them actually) were afraid to write romance after the wedding maybe because they thought the audience would get bored but they didn't give me or other fans enough credits that we would actually still follow. Avoiding the situation because you think you might loose your audience (and it's only speculation on my part here) is a wrong approach to write story lines, by not showing us anything they did actually create a boring season for what is otherwise a fantastic couple, I'm beyond any coherent thoughts as I really don't know what they were thinking at all!!! The season is totally uneven and it feels more like showcasing "sensational" plots rather than a coherent season imo

The "watcher" could have been observing George and/ or Edna. Sequential killers have a "moral code". Remember Murdoch on the Corner. Maybe the war did a number on his head and now that he finds out his wife moved on without him, he turns into a psycho.

Wa, sequential killer was watching George?
If it's someone from MM's past, then the grudge would be more generally against SH4, not just William.
Killing off George would be worse than Brackenreid.D:
I take it Gedna was the failed proposal?

If he married Edna he'd need the extra salary from the promotion so would have to go to SH3.

I did think it may be the sequential killer but it's more likely Edna's husband, unless he turns out to be the killer but I doubt that.

You really are a glutton for punishment. Even the way William tells Meyers that "we are very happy" sounded flat to me. Well I'm a fan of angst, as long as tgey don't actually kill off George. That's where we get the great acting - YB will be envious! Regarding William's tone - my hopes are revived a bit that there nay actually be trouble in paradise...? The writers could let themselves off the hook that way. See Fallenbelle's latest fic for a possible blow out version.

Only ONE sensational plot IMO and barely any ship in the primary relationship. Do you think they were trying to keep the new viewers hooked that way, by leaving the loyal shipper fans adrift after the wedding? That was the motivation for the significant fanservice around the wedding? 'Give them enough all at once and that should hold them while we focus on murders.'

That is such a weird "plan" to have don't you think? They were able to be cohesive the previous seasons (except for season 5 which is the one I like the least for plenty of reasons) so why would you change something that was working before, it is totally eluding me.

But they didn't focus on the murders. That might have made sense at least, and I think I would have been more tolerant of the lack of Jilliam if the mysteries had been delivering outstanding eps week after week. IMHO, the derailment on side plots at the expense of mysteries stinks of "succession planning". But they jumped the gun and perhaps artificially accelerated the pace. Tonight I have to wonder whether they were hoping they could manipulate the audience into liking Gemily. I really hope not.

I think it's eluding everyone that's a W/J shipper. We've been ignored this season. We'd better not be ignored next season or people will be abandoning ship. No pun intended!

Do I have to make a "Emillian: At Least It's Better Than Gemily" pic? Or can that go without saying?
