Oh, don't let me crush your dreams. If you want to to write fic with that, go for it! Believable humor is one thing, crackfic is another - I appreciate everyone's input. Not that I'm actually writing anything. Now that I've thought about it, you could do it as a humorous piece where William calls her various names just to annoy/tease/flirt with her. She'll just roll her eyes, and hit him on the shoulder.

He's called her Mrs. Murdoch. And she's proud of it! Awww! I can see her liking Mrs. Murdoch informally or even socially to an extent (though I doubt we'd ever see her sign an invitation "Mrs. Wm. Murdoch" like a 'proper' lady should), but still want to use Ogden professionally and publicly.

But she didn't change her name. It's what we expected though. Exactly what we were thinking. I liked her comment that it was fine for convenience when the hotel registrar called her Mrs. Murdoch and William was about to correct him. Did William look schmoopy after that?

Yes, she adores it but can't show complete weakness/sentimentality, so added the bit about convenience... All in the name of science...of course.

Did William look schmoopy after that? He looks like he's still getting used to the idea of being married! I really felt for him as his plans seemed to be going all wonky: not the room he booked, the museum closed. He had better let Julia do the travel research from now on, although the room is explained later. As as for her name, I believe he completely accepts that, at least for now. Mrs. Murdoch is a term of endearment he uses in more public places. And Julia accepts that she will be called that when they are together.

That's sort of the tone I'd imagine any pet name to occur in.

I can see Julia working that into her "code" language for when she wants William to come home now, too. lol at everything going wrong on the honeymoon. That just means William needs Julia to save him.

So they didn't go to Washington for a personal thank you from the President?
