I hope we get a full report! Will there be corset-wearing? God NO!!!!! I guess that would make the crumpet digestion difficult.

I actually have a better idea. Have a great breakfast here, head out on the boat for hours THEN come back to eat and drink to our hearts content!! Lots of beds here... You guys are making me so jealous! Better not be absinthe and crumpets on that boat... Definitely no absinthe on the boat! No booze allowed on the water here .

Besides, I don't think you can wear a corset with jeans....... What do you mean jeans?? We are going to be bronzed beauties in bathing togs as we cruise the lake on our mission!! Nothing to stop us from donning corsets and tea dresses for high tea with crumpets or absinthe sipping after our return though !

You may be a bronzed beauty in bathing togs but you can bet this gal won't be! If we're wearing a tea dress we won't be wearing corsets either! I may however be wearing one for the MME if we get to go this year. I'll bring the crumpets and the absinthe if I can pick up a bottle from somewhere, I may be able to get one in London, don't know if I'll be able to get the spoon and glasses though.... If I can't get the absinthe I'll bring Pernod instead as it was the Pernod brother's answer to the ban on absinthe ... and my longtime drink of choice!

I REALLY HOPE to land a ticket if the MME goes ahead. My only problem is wearing a corset in the heat of an August afternoon event. That boned bodice for the 100th was something else. I may have a spoon and we have quite a range of glassware here. Absinthe is licorice flavoured isn't it? I'm all for going corsetless for this adventure though .

It will be held somewhere airconditioned and you can change into your outfit when you get there or even just wear it for the fashion parade. You have an absinthe spoon but you're not sure if it's licorice flavoured, I'm thinking there's a disconnect there. What are you doing with an absinthe spoon if you've not had absinthe? Actually it's anise flavoured and I know everyone thinks they're the same but licorice and anise taste different to me aside from being from different plants, though I believe anise is used to make licorice sweets these days.

I have a drink filtering spoon...generic I guess. I have no idea whether or not absinthe requires it's own special one. If so, then I don't have one. . I stand corrected. Anise and licorice are different plants and flavours, but as I dislike them both, they are interchangeable to me. As for trying absinthe...anything to further my MM experience !

The spoon will probably do. If you don't like anise or licorice you won't like absinthe and you won't like Pernod which is really just a less alcoholic absinthe without the wormwood. I drink Pernod with orange juice and ice, I'm not keen on it with water as the French drink it but like you I'll try the absinthe as it has sugar dissolved into it to sweeten it a bit. The thing with absinthe is the ritual, dripping ice water over the sugar cube into the absinthe which changes from clear to opaque with the water. If we don't like it that way I'll be a heathen and put orange juice in like my Pernod!!
