So....it looks like Eva Pearce evaded the noose-and now she's threatening Julia's life. There should be lots of strong women in this episode! I can't wait!

Interesting. How did Eva Pierce end up in the asylum. She's not mad just bad.

Well she's very manipulative, she probably convinced the (male) jurors and the (male) judge) she was insane. I wonder if Julia knew Eva Pearce was there before she went in?! Well if something drives her out of the psychology business and back into the lab, this will be it! She can't remain a target for retaliation for William's cases!

I hope they go into how Eva Pearce ended up in the asylum instead of at the end of a rope otherwise it's a pretty big plot hole. The other two are pretty obvious. As far as Julia knowing she was there, possibly not. Presumably they have a section for the criminally insane which is usually separate, these days anyway, from the main part of the asylum.

It might be that part of the Asylum is a "Death Row" of sorts for dangerous prisoners?

It was only a few weeks at most between sentencing and punishment. What are they trying to do? Cure them before hanging them...? I can see Mrs. Lynd and Rose Maxwell but Eva Pearce? Julia could be an expert witness to the fact that Eva Pearce was not insane but a manipulator. The jury would have to believe her though I suppose and we know what effect Eva has on men.

I have no problem believing Eva Pearce is a sociopath, so she could easily reinvent herself as a madwoman for the Jury.

Prior to abolishing capital punishment, Canada only hung 13 women, as opposed to nearly 700 men. Also, only roughly half the convicts condemned to death were actually hung, so, even if she was sentenced to death, there is a very good chance it would have been commuted to life in prison, although it appears she was found not criminally responsible, either at her trial or on appeal. I'm sure we are about to find out.

A little further research, between 1898 and 1914, only 6 men and no women were hung in Toronto.

I hope they get into it as well. Also, I think Eva was brought back on purpose-maybe as a wedge between W/J. Does anyone else expect Eva to torment Julia with William? Perhaps Eva will imply that she was with him, and given what we know about his analyzed fantasy, does she manage to get into Julia's head even a little bit?
