Here's my two cents worth about the whole shebang:
The BEST part was having Fallenbelle here!!!
The next best part was the studio tour IMO. The level of detail in each set is absolutely stunning. The morgue is an incredible place. (I shook Shelley's hand. ) Walking the outside streets gave me far more insight with my identification of locations. I had a pretty good handle on what was shot on the backlot but the set department are absolute masters of disguise. We got to ride in the Pendrick Bullet!! Craig was kept busy holding it because it is very tippy. Seeing the preview reel made me very happy. Fallenbelle has done a good job describing its content. Julia's office at the asylum was notably absent. Once I get the photobucket account figured out I'll post my pics too...I have a great one of Maureen Jennings in the Pendrick Bullet holding a sign that says "Free Crabtree", lol!
The panel discussion at the MME on Sunday was very interesting. We heard from Paul Aitken, my fav MM writer, the man who does all the music and how that process works, the lead set decorator talked about how she sources all the little details that make the show look so good, a hairstylist did up Pendrick Arrow (from FB) with Emily's hairdo and we got to hear from Edna and Terrence Myers. It truly makes you appreciate the vast array of skills required to bring this amazing show together on a relatively small budget.
I suspect the Pendrick Bullet may have become a bit too tippy, because I don't think it was there late in the afternoon when I did the tour.......
The backlot is an amazing place......while I was waiting to meet Peter Keleghan, I noticed what looks like dark red, weathered brick is plastic cladding......the level of detail both inside and out is fantastic......I had a great day.....
I'm sorry to hear that it met its demise, but not surprised; it was a bit rickety when I got in. Craig even push started me off-a very cool little contraption with a recumbent bike inside. The motor was not hooked up, unfortunately.

Awwww! I really did have a fabulous time! I am soooooo glad I went-of course I had an amazing hostess and terrific tour guides! I wish I could have spent more time with you, but at least we got to see Parkwood (could have done without the loud, cranky kids) and have dinner at the Foxes Den........your time spent here was unique.....not many people who come to visit Canada make a beeline for Oshawa first thing when they arrive....

The great mapping project has been pushed aside by the bigger and more pressing get my house renovated so I can move into it project. This weekend is the first time I have stopped for a break for the past 2+ months. (The MME week was jam packed so it doesn't exactly count...we were very busy!) I'll get back to it. Coincidentally, we met the U.S. couple who started it all with their adventure to Brantford 2 years ago! We had some fun swapping location information and we've already been in touch via email this weekend.

Maybe it comes with the Super Geeky Guidebook, though.

Maybe it comes with the Super Geeky Guidebook, though. Honestly, I would purchase a MM map of filming locations, locations of note, landmarks mentioned but no longer standing, etc. I had such a blast at the Fan Day (9-11 am, Saturday) that I felt even more bummed about not having known of the full MME. Next year my friend and I will be back to do the whole thing, and I plan on staying in the area for at least a couple of weeks so I can check out more sights, especially filming locations!
