He should have been falling asleep all through the next day, though. I wonder if he's indulging in some of those new cocaine drinks? Perhaps there is come Vin Mariani in the crystal wine carafe. Or he imbibes in the orginal Coca Cola. I think it's an interesting idea, but one we'll never see because of the uproar that would occur when our beloved hero partakes in the use of illicit drugs! The possible uproar just makes me want the writers to go there more! We don't need a repeat of the Inspector's addiction story, but it would be fun if people didn't yet understand the side effects/consequences (like the x-ray machine). Or such drinks could never do any harm at all - causing even more of an uproar!

I wish there would have been a bit more discussion about Julia going back to the morgue. I guess she just jumped at the opportunity and wasn't bothered about not being a psychologist anymore? I also felt that there should have been a remark or two about her not being a psychiatrist anymore, but perhaps there will be a comment to Rebecca or something of the sort within the next couple of episodes. I'm not so sure Julia actually left. The clip regarding Julia's relationship with Rebecca seemed to imply that Julia was running back and forth between multiple offices. Perhaps there is another coroner and Julia only works on Station House 4 cases...?

I love it when writers use contrasts to define their character. William is strongly defined by his buttoned-up look. Undressing him a bit says a lot about the context without a word of dialogue. I'm still not sure why they were barefoot in the park, though! William's always perfectly presented, so yeah, when he's not put together, it really makes quite the statement. His comfort level at their suite is already such a marked contrast from last season. This episode was great because it was Jilliam, partners at work and in love. The thrill shall never be gone! I liked the barefoot thing - I just wish the context had been more fathomable.

It would help to be reminded by a tie-swiping fantasy... I have faith that it's coming...and it will be in a moment when we're not expecting it. If it happened in the scene that was cut last week, so help me God... The first take of W/J in the park at the end of this week's ep was tie play. I was so hoping they'd work it into the scene but as all the other takes were kisses I didn't think they would and to my disappointment I was right. I think I've finally got it!

Cute picture....but, you know, Yannick is right, he does have funny ankles..... They look funny in this pic (which I had to enhance to make it clearer - not sure it worked....) but I don't recall them looking funny at the time.

The ironic thing is, when a man has an ass like he does, who the hell is looking at his ankles?

The picture won't stick unless it has the filetype at the end, re: ".jpg".

Julia was exhausted because she was working late hours on this case. She worked later than a coroner generally would which is why she met Rebecca. I don't think there's a hidden reason for why she mentioned being exhausted.
Julia couldn't be both the coroner and the head psychiatrist at the asylum. She wouldn't have the time to do both jobs as they're full-time positions. She must has left the asylum. We just didn't get the reason why.
I'm wondering just how formally educated Rebecca can be. I'd assume because she's a black woman, she hasn't been able to have much formal education, but with Julia's support she'll have better access from now on.

I'd assume because she's a black woman, she hasn't been able to have much formal education, but with Julia's support she'll have better access from now on. A few black women managed to get into the Seven Sisters colleges in the 19th century: faculty.washington.edu/joyann/EDLPS531/Perkins.pdfA number of the historically black colleges for women were also founded in the 19th century, including Spelman: www.ehow.com/info_7948065_listing-historically-black-colleges-women.htmlWow, I didn't know that! Glad this question gave me cause to look it up! Regarding Julia: she worked at the asylum, but was she the head of it? If she is juggling 2 jobs, the exhaustion might turn into a cause for her to return full-time to the morgue. Or the exhaustion might just be William keeping her up all night with all the "excitement".

The ironic thing is, when a man has an ass like he does, who the hell is looking at his ankles? Well, his ankles were bare.....if his ass had been........ I remember when that was considered revolutionary (for men at least) on American TV. NYPD Blue broke the prude cycle. Now the needle has moved to the other side of the dial with great shows like Game of Thrones integrating soft porn. On an interesting TV historical note, I once read that Stargate (which launched on the cable channel Showtime) was going to integrate soft porn. I'm not sure that was defined at the Game of Thrones or Spartacus level, but the 2 hour pilot did show more skin than the next 10 seasons put together.
