Hannikan: Yes, an episode at a candy shop would be fun! I can just imagine George sampling all the varieties and being an expert on all the flavours lol.
I'm looking forward to what they might have in store for us in season 7. There are still so many areas in the city that they can cover, just from looking at the photos from that period!

A lot of the really famous candy-makers were well-established by 1900. Cadbury's, Whitman's, Fry's, Lindt, Hershey's etc. I could imagine there being a lot of fun being had by all.
I could see a candy-shop episode being really funny. George knowing everything about the candy. Inspector Brackenreid buying a huge box of candy for his boys (yeah right. And he hides it in his office and nibbles on it throughout the episode!). Mrs. B. catches him and berates him for spoiling his dinner and setting a bad example for his sons!
Murdoch would be all technical about how the candy is made and how the confectioners produce all their wares, spilling the beans on their secret recipes at the same time, making him very unpopular.
Dr. Grace and George would argue about which type of candy is best to buy for a boyfriend/girlfriend, and why. Higgins would butt in and be completely correct, making them both look stupid!

I've always loved the Julia/George scenes. There were two very touching moments in the last two episodes. In Crime and Punishment, George is the only person to offer his sympathies to Julia over Darcy's death. In the Murdoch Trap there is the memorable scene in Julia's cell where he appologizes for testifying against her. In both cases George is so clearly genuine and broken hearted over every thing.

^ I liked those moments, too. Those are good ideas for the candy store murder, shangas!

Great ideas shangas and jj1! I also keep thinking that The Canadian National Exhibition (originally the Toronto Industrial Exhibition) would be another good possibility. At the time it was a large fair that featured the latest in agricultural technology, but like a typical fairground, had games, exhibits and shows etc. CNE Midway

If I'm not mistaken I think Emily offered her sympathies as well by saying something like "Julia, I'm so sorry.." to which Julia replies "he was such a good man Emily, he didn't deserve this." I agree with the scenes between Julia and George, I always like seeing them together, they have some kind of brother/sister relationship somehow that is really fun and nice to watch. Murdoch in a candy store, I can totally picture it. If the set is as marvellous to look at as the Eaton center in episode #8 I can already feel my mouth waters at the prospect of looking at all these candies I also like your idea jj1 about a baby however I think that William & Julia would need to be married first to consider that option. So many ideas regarding season 7, I'm excited to see how it will unfold for sure!!!

Love the candy store idea! Maybe someone has choked on a piece of candy and died but it was really murder!?
One of the ideas I came up with for season 7 that might very well happen is that Brackenreid's family goes back to England for the first 2 or 3 episodes because of Queen Victoria's death and stuff, and he wants to visit his family too. Then maybe there's a case there he has to solve, and it will span a few episodes? While this is going on, Giles replaces Brackenreid back at Stationhouse 4, and Murdoch and George don't like that one bit.
Someone needs to start a season 7 ideas thread!

We need a Season 7 BOARD first. Admins, get on it, stat!
Season 7 is confirmed now. I expect it will take place in 1901. A new century!
I don't see why Victoria's death would send the Brackenreids to England.

I have to say that this episode was really good and I did not expect the story to go the way it did.
I only hope that Julia doesn't shy away from being with Murdoch if she blames herself for Darcy's death.
Also, does anyone know if they would have video like that it 1900?

^^No they definitely did not! This has been discussed in great detail already. You'd probably be surprised at how many things were historically/scientifically inaccurate this time around. :/

I wonder why they decided that was the best way to do it. They should have had them talking face to face, I would have found that far more intense

I guess because they thought it would be cool or something and Gillies always likes to show off how brilliant he is so of course he would rig up some insanely complicated mirror thing (part of which looked like a webcam btw) in order to chat with Murdoch in real time when he was right beside him the whole time.
