The Murdoch Trap (Season Finale) With his colleague sentenced to hang for murder, Detective Murdoch races to exonerate them and steps into a trap set by the real killer. Guest star: Michael Seater
Sounds intense! I've heard that storylines are starting to be formed for season seven but that could be just rumors.

Sounds interesting, but I'm more and more scared by the end of this season.

I'm not scared at all. I have complete confidence it will turn out well and be a good storyline.

I bet Murdoch dies because this is the end of the series. Or perhaps he lives because there's a 7th Season on the way. But I doubt it.

Ah come on guys Murdoch's not going to die! D: even though he falls into a trap set by the real killer. Yikes. They can't kill anyone too major off if season 7 is on the way, which it most likely is. I heard today Maureen Jennings is looking at scripts for the new season (but of course this is just a word of mouth thing) I'm wondering if the writers just want us to think James Gillies will be behind all of this. We know he's appearing in both episodes but it may not be him. I think Melanie Shropshire is a suspicious character! But James has endangered Julia before so it wouldn't be out of his character to do it again.

I had completely forgotten about the evil James Gillies! I would love it if there was another episode featuring him! It would be fascinating and so exciting. I very much liked the last one in which he featured.
A pity about his partner in crime, however. Imagine having your head sawn off...

So... I wonder...
1. Will William 100%, without any doubts, believe Julia is innocent?
2. If he has doubts, will Julia notice?
3. If she does.. how will they reconcile that after she has been exonerated?
Ohh... these last two episodes will be so good....

Petunia, your questions are all answered in Crime and Punishment. I'm not worried about William dying. S7 has been confirmed so that's definitely not happening. I'm confident she'll be exonerated. Michael Seater already made an appearance in Crime and Punishment as well, actually. I can't believe we have to wait a week for this conclusion!!

So Lets figure the crime.
I need clarification on one point. When Julia calls Darcy does she as that the door be unlocked, cannot remmeber.
Since we know its Gillis, Murdoch can work backward. Look at the crime scene again. No signs of struggle, so I think Gillis was standing with the light behind him so as to obscure his face enough for Darcy to get close.
How did ne get inside if the doors and windows were locked. Must have had a key, that leads back to the housekeeper or Darcy's girlfriend.
Dust the other bullets for prints to see if they have Julia's finerprints on them.
How does a woman knowingly flirting with a married man say she's at the Women's Christian Reading Room, not exactly the company she or other people would want to be keeping.
Any else got things I missed want to add. Let's solve part of it at least

Emily and George do some blood splatter testing but they get caught by Giles. Yikes. There isn't a preview yet so apart from the summary I got in January for this episode I don't know much. In the first promo picture William is either in front of or behind bars. He may be talking to Julia who is in jail or it may be him in jail, because he falls into a trap too. The finale is romantic so there is hope. There still is.

Any else got things I missed want to add. Let's solve part of it at least I think it was Darcy's mistress who entered the house posed as Julia. I think she's working with Gillies and has been the way that Gillies can track Darcy (knows where he lives, has a key, etc). Gillies was following William and Julia in S5 and I'm sure he has been in S6, too. He knows about the effort to divorce Darcy and marry William. I think Gillies is the one who actually murdered Darcy, but this Miss Shropshire was used to set up Julia because she can look like her from the back/side. Yeah, I laughed about the Women's Christian group, too. She's not just flirting with him, she is having an affair with him. But honestly, she probably wouldn't have been the only one in the group who at some point had been carrying on an affair. Being in a group like that is a good cover if she (and he) were accused of having an affair, too. She would have those women to vouch for her character.

Miss Shropshire has the 10 eyewitness' as her aliby. Gillis dressed as Julie, shot Darcy then removed the blood spattered dress as her had clothes on underneath(note look for fibres on the inside of the dress) then walked back disposed of the gun(remember George needed a boost up from Henry to get the gun out of the hole, Julia could not have done that) then planted the dress in Julia's garbage. He most likely had it in a bag when he left the house.
I have no doubt Miss Shropeshire is involved, but not the actual killer. Also Julia said the gun is a family heirloom. The Colt 45 Darcy had looked like a converted cap and ball gun from the American Civil War( Colt did not produce a cartridge gun until 1865, just after the war ended. Who keeps a family heirloom in an open desk drawer. Most likely kept in a display cabinet or in a clothes drawer in his room. Sugessting the gun was moved and the killer told where to find it.

The preview for this scared me so bad. Does anyone think he's actually in jail, or is it just a dream sequence? It's right at the beginning of the episode, if that helps.
