In which we talk about how wonderful the first 5 minutes of William's marriage will be.
After all, the poor sap held out for almost a decade. It took a couple of years for William just to ask Julia out while the only "bliss" he found was in fantasies. Then he dated her for something like two weeks before Julia dropped him like a hot potato over his morals and upstanding behavior. Then William won her back, only to lose her again because Julia felt he need children more than he needed her. William literally missed the train when he tried to propose, and then when he tried to propose again, Julia was engaged to marry another! Julia may have left William for the sake of William's happiness, but William heard Manhood!Fail!
Eventually Julia leaves her husband for William, but then he has to be careful about adultery and deal with dating a Divorcee. Then at last he's dating a widow, who is teasing the bejesus out of him, but once again she rejects his proposal! Stuff happens, and at last William and Julia agree to marry by a lovely lake side.
Let the connubial bliss begin!
Tokyobelle has proposed that said bliss will begin with loosening/removal of William's tie.
I shall propose, cliche that it may be, a lot of bodice ripping shall be involved on the honeymoon night. And if it is a "shotgun wedding", the honeymoon shall take place in a cabin rather than the honeymoon suite at the Queen's hotel.
Also my naughty theory is William likes women on top, no matter the perv stares.
Proceed with other blissful speculations...

Which is fine with William because you bet your a$$ he likes women on top. hmm, William may be too exhausted to come into work and do any actual mystery solving for quite a while.  In The Kissing Bandit (my new MM crack cocaine), William looks so bereft when the dull accountant guy talks about not making any grand gestures. It's an interesting counterpoint to where H.G. Wells says that William originally struck him as bland, and Julia parries that William isn't bland at all. (Hopefully she isn't "protesting too much" - she does spend an awful lot of time adjusting to William's interests/world). Anyyyyyyyyyyyyway, William believes he failed in the grand gestures/passion department. It's kind of cute the way he's tried to address that as a shortcoming: like how he does that little "artists have more fun" dance in Murdoch in Ragtime. So I believe part of the connubial bliss will be William trying not to be dull and occasionally looking for the "grand gesture" (or at least avoiding looking too dull). He wants to stay the man who can "arouse Julia's passions", and he never wants competition on that front again. |

Perhaps not on the wedding night, but sometime after that, Julia starts a conversation with William asking if he trusts her. I seriously doubt she'd bother asking. She's a woman of action. By the way, I think I caught Julia at some inappropriate stealthy looking in Bloodlust. It might just be a trick of when the screencap was taken though - I would have to rewatch the ep to be sure, and I don't have time right now. Anyway this might have fanned the flames for the later fire, lol? William was just wearing a t-shirt. |

But what I have in mind isn't all that x-rated: I just think Julia should make some assertive use of that tie she's so interested in.  And I also suspect William likes to be bossed around a bit in bed. |
