the beginning of my descent into madness. Hey, who are you to make fun of the amount of time I spend on MM kerfluffle? btw, I am getting a vibe particularly from your fanfic style: even though you are now Canadian, were you raised in England? I don't understand the connection between the two statements. Lol no. Why do you ask? Certain words I use perhaps? Because our education system here would probably be to blame if that's the case. Remind me to throw in a few more eh's for you.

even down to his inability to handle too much alcohol. I thought that was a nice touch, too! And also the scruff in theory, as long as William doesn't overdo it into beard...ugh. I wasn't sure about the batons, but, once again, that may be a strictly personal thing: I think I'd find the sound so jarring that it would through me out of the "sexy time" moment. It doesn't take much to do that with me, though, since I can't even listen to music out of a certain range. Well I was just trying to kinda replicate his chloroform induced fantasy...but I suppose that wasn't exactly enticing for him...

A "blissful" thought about this pic: William is worrying over some case materials or even checking some dire events in the newspaper when Julia appears in the doorway. Wearing those stockings. Whatever passes for Edwardian lingerie. And William's homburg. If William doesn't notice immediately, one of those gold slippers is coming down on the newspaper! While the tie is simultaneously being ripped off. Wait, do I see a tip of a tie in that pic...? Tie? Lol, wishful thinking much? The fabric is from her skirts that she is holding up in order to take the photo.

Remind me to throw in a few more eh's for you. There is zero connection -- Just some retaliation teasing since you clearly spend a great deal of time gif-tumblr-vid-etc-izing. I'm not sure where the vibe is coming from. My previous fandom had a huge British fanfic-writing contingent, and your tone/style just seems convergent with that somehow. But it could also just be you capturing the time period with a "historic" voice. If you say "eh" too much, I will suspect you of being some triple-agent trying to put yourself over as a Canadian.

He probably found it sexy, while I have trouble doing so just because of the weird condition I'm in right now. I don't think it takes away from your fic at all, though. It's more that I think it's interesting that the reader also has to be in a particular frame of reference to find particular things sexy. If William were tiptoeing around, I'm sure tokyobelle would jump right in with: William needs to stop being a wimp - take some action, dude!!!

The fabric is from her skirts that she is holding up in order to take the photo. I'm squinting at it sideways and it still looks like a tie~

Ohhh gotcha now. Well played. Well played indeed. I'll go with the historic/old fashioned narration. So no aboot's then?

ROFL you made me Google that. Interestingly, the area of US where I was raised (Southeast mountains) had a similar dialect: "hoose" instead of "house", etc. Thank goodness I watched a lot of TV and learned the "International American dialect" instead!

Of course, William did take action in the fic, and look how that turned out. Poor boy needs Dutch courage to live out his fantasies-now that's repression!

I'm the girl from Texas who forgot how to "drawl" and now speaks with what people think is either: a.) Chicago/newscaster or b.) West Coast. Two places I've never lived.

Apparently, I also really love people from Saskatoon. That or Canadian expats in Japan are all from Saskatoon.

I really love "Dutch Courage" William - especially because he looks so cute drinking on the show. Was the truncheon thing a fantasy? I think Cabaret!Julia was...but the banging of the truncheon...?

I wonder what William's next move would have been in the Eva Pierce fantasy? Sexy for me would be to combine the two: Julia in the Cabaret outfit, power-stripping as she approached William, threatening not to do anything more... I'm more in favor of tie-snapping than truncheon-banging.

Perhaps not canonically, but in the fic, yes.
