especially when Julia has teased him into a tizzy at a party or some function (knowing what it does to him) and other times when she wants to be the boss. I can see this happening: lots of insinuation and coded language, while William absolutely can't leave because the Mayor is there are something. She better let him drive when they get home. I smell another fic coming on.

I'm not Catholic, so I'm curious. If they're married, does he have anything to confess? Married couples are supposed to enjoy one another...One of the biggest resentments of the Catholic Church was that people had to confess about their intimate lives, even in marriage. I believe the church also had very specific bedroom rules as well, hence the famous "missionary position". It could get quite prurient, and sometimes the priest could be an unqualified, uneducated jerk from a privileged aristocratic family. This was one of the things that drove the anticlerical movement in Catholic countries in the late 19th century. Anyway, if Julia took William into any "dark places", he would feel the need to confess (definitely any situation in which a "safe word" would be required, lol). But...if Julia did something kinky and all William felt was a lot of hot love going on, then he'd probably not feel a huge need to confess even if they didn't follow all the rules. There are some rules you just ignore if they seem "out of date" or "everybody ignores them". Also we've seen William check in with God first: if he thinks it's a matter of Divine Love, then he's going to shrug off what the priest says. Hyper-academic book on the topic, from earlier time period: books.google.com/books?id=Xqo8AAAAIAAJ&source=gbs_book_other_versions So I think Julia could get away with putting William under "tie-arrest" without putting him in a state of spiritual crisis... In William's own words..."No matter what the Church says, I refuse to believe that love, ANY LOVE, could be wrong. And I love you." Seems to leave some wiggle room for dark place exploration without running off to confession! I know the context had to do with divorce but IMO, William went through a quantum shift in his need to observe strict adherence to Church doctrine with that decision. Let the connubial bliss begin, in whatever shade of darkness, in whatever room and with or without homburgs and ties!! This goddess is waiting on baited breath for the next chapter...

All worked up and laughing out loud at the same time!! Excellent work CC. What do you mean by the M section? If that means Mature then yes please! OMG, you made me click! And my Mom is here, in the next room! Good thing that was short, lol! Excellent start! I can totally imagine that tone of: "Julia!" I KNEW you'd sneak a peak after your mom went to bed .

So I updated it. It's umm...well...basically it embarrassed me to write it. ROFLMAO ! Brilliant! Even as an embarrassed writer you're still a fabulous one! The big question is are you enjoying the result? Your description of William's reactions still manages to keep him 'in character' but with comfort and trust in that aspect of their relationship. That must be one of the hardest parts...how far can you push his character without crossing into the realm of unbelievable...that would wreck it for the reader. Loved Julia too. I don't know how you managed to keep writing if you were so embarrassed but the pervy goddessess are very pleased! Hehehehe.

Lots of things I write embarrass me. It doesn't take much. This one was embarrassing more because it seemed really silly in my mind. Even though it wasn't super out there it was still a stretch to ever imagine them doing something like this. But Snacky should be pleased at least.

Well your content will certainly never make it on to the show. Sure it was silly because as much as we speculate about William's dark places he is still a very conservative fellow. Can I picture Julia being that bold? Totally. It was some risque fun! I like to think that a couple who can play together and be silly together have a stronger, happier relationship. William needs that tie to be loosened, frequently XD.

But Snacky should be pleased at least. She will be. Her biggest problem will be keeping quite while her mom is asleep. I was squealing out loud. The only possible note of disappointment for her might be the lack of broken furniture. She was convinced that William and Julia will break a significant amount of it with their newlywed escapades until I pointed out that their home will be filled with furnishings made of good Canadian hardwood, so not easily broken! hahaha

She will-because as much as she likes being on top, she likes it when he takes charge as well. But seriously, this is why I should never write actual smut-just allude to it.

I think his "dark side" will come out when Julia pushes him too far and he loses control. Of course, that's exactly what she wants him to to do. And not in a violent way either-I don't think he'd ever hurt her-but in a raw, primal, pin her hands over her head and take charge sort of way. He loses that veneer of a good Victorian for just a few minutes, and it's because Julia pushes him into it. Even then, Julia is in full control because she teased him to act this way.

IMO, William went through a quantum shift in his need to observe strict adherence to Church doctrine with that decision. I always thought that conversation might have shifted some of Williams attitudes on dark places/love, but I never thought of it as a moment that might have transformed his attitude toward Catholicism in general. Now I'm wondering about that... I agree William wouldn't feel the need to confess every little thing. I just wanted to point out that Confession invasiveness was one of the issues that drove anticlericalism at the turn of the century, and it's one of the reasons for our modern separation of church and state as well as our conception of a private sphere. The only role the homburg will play is for Julia to figure out how to get William to take it off!
