One of my first fics had her dressed as a man...but Murdoch was totally clueless to anything being amiss. He was too much in detective mode I guess. Or I just never considered him really being that into her back then. To make it even weirder, have BOTH William and Julia be attracted to this mysterious man and both feel equally guilty about it. It started one night when William and Julia were trying to spice up their marriage through their mutual kink - spotting Julia at the men's club...but then a mysterious, but charming, stranger intervenes...things rapidly slide downhill into "Eyes Wide Shut" territory after that. For some reason that reminds me to tell you I saw that The Room was playing...in a theater near place a few weeks ago.

Is there anyone who doesn't think this isn't William's number one "dark places" fantasy? Well maybe dominatrix!Julia in the cabaret bowler...but he probably suppresses that one...

Question: How is it that James Pendrick has been housed on death row in Don Jail for 6 months? ? Haven't all other hangings happened within 6 weeks?

Sure, the writers are allowed some license but such blatant inconsistency for convenience sake annoys me.

And if I remember correctly, her lawyer was a bit incompetent.

Her lawyer was a bumbler (again, for convenience sake). It always bothered me that her father was nowhere to be found, even as a mention. He was a man of wealth and influence in the city so you'd think he would have intervened. I know the writers didn't want to introduce a new character but they managed a decent job of it with Harry Murdoch. I guess it just wasn't Julia's season for character development. She just runs away...watching train pull out of station as we speak.

She just runs away...watching train pull out of station as we speak. Maybe convenience sake maybe not. Because she was a woman (and a woman who killed her husband) she probably couldn't get anyone good to represent her, even with tons of money. Yeah they kinda dropped the ball on that. They could have at least said her family was out of town when the trial was happening. Ruby wasn't mentioned at all during her wedding either...yet she WAS when their father died...rather inconsistent there. I'm still a bit disappointed that Sarah Gadon didn't make an appearance for the 100th. It was a landmark event for a Canadian show and you'd think she would have wanted to be a part of it. I find it hard to believe that she's so swamped that she couldn't find even one day to film a scene or two. And it would have been a nice closure for the character's story arc...she was the one who tried to get them together way back when...and then she could have disappeared again forever after that. But it's also something to note that Ruby wasn't exactly a main character or even a supporting one. She was only in 4 eps throughout S2-4. Even Enid was in the show more!

She's just such a whirlwind that she makes Enid look like milktoast by comparison. Frankly, I think that's true for all the ladies who've been paraded through...Enid, Edna, Tess, Minerva Fairchild and even Sally Pendrick.

I think Sally still made an impact in how she got into William's head like no other. Eva Pearce did it too-and I wish that's something they'd explore more. William is stoic in dealing with most other suspects, but get a pretty girl who has smarts in there-and she has his number. It's an achilles heel-and one that Brax comments upon, to which William denies-but not too much.

He needs to be smacked upside the head before he sees that in a woman. Same with Cassie Chadwick.

Question: How is it that James Pendrick has been housed on death row in Don Jail for 6 months? ? Haven't all other hangings happened within 6 weeks? Why would he be on death row? The only person he killed was Luca Carducci and that was to protect William. He was only accused of attempted murder for Sally Pendrick.

And that other guy who was doing the blackmailing (can't remember his name).
