even from die-hard MM fans, stuck to tea and crumpets. I even posted a redirect to the main point but still not much. WTH?! Did someone miss that we are supposed to be rejecting the "tea and crumpets" thing? Peter Mitchell must be crying right now. Grr.

Tea and crumpets! Which I have to admit I'm quite happy to embrace. Turning around the idiots comments and embracing them is a slap in the face. I had considered posting the link to the manifesto on Twitter but I don't really post much on there, mainly just keep up with what's going on as you sometimes get tidbits that don't make it to fb until later. I'm still waiting for the challenge to the manifesto! It's sort of pretentious artsy-speak - I'm waiting for someone to say: "Okay, that's B.S. - here's what we should really be saying..." Just as long as we're calling MM style something besides hybrid!!!!

Aw, that's nice of you, but don't do that. It's way too pretentious. You might ask something like if, after all these years, the MM team does have a positive way of framing the aesthetic style of Murdoch Mysteries beyond simply hybrid. Or you could ask them just to discuss the creative/aesthetic style, if there are any members of the production team on the panel. Hmm - Yannick might even like to hold forth on that since he has an architecture background and he's now a producer of the show. Though he might just say the pat things we've already heard rehearsed for MIPCOM, etc. Anyway - I'd ask them for the style of the show they are trying to create: don't try to suggest any fan ideas about it.

I would bring it up in general terms. See if they can nail it down themselves...they're the ones talking to the press. I'd direct the question to Yannick anyway just to have him talk to me!! Trying not to squeal with excitement.

I'd try to keep your question as general as possible and let him decide what he wants to talk about. Perhaps just ask him if he thinks MM has developed a particular style over the last 8 seasons and ask him to talk about what that style is.

I might want to update my manifesto based on what the production team is actually doing...

I wouldn't be surprised if the Q & A shows up on YT or the CBC site fairly quickly.

Could have been prop monkey or brian laufman! )

I'm not sure what I'm doing to mark the occasion. I don't know if I want to be Victorian in appreciation, or if I want to go the opposite extreme and do shots while watching. Even though it'll be Tuesday afternoon my time when I'm watching. Meh, 5 o'clock somewhere, I suppose. Who are we kidding? I'll be ded of squee and not eating a damn thing!

I still have 2/3 of a bottle of matahari absinthe from my birthday to add to my tea. Still trying to figure out how to make it the biggest party possible. Wish I had people to celebrate it with.
