I think this is the same interview I posted. Yes, FallenBelle mentioned that you had posted it in a PM to me. I hadn't listened to it yet because it's so long, but I have time at the minute because I'm here multitasking with other stuff. I haven't even caught up with the morning forum posts yet!

Here's a couple more links I think you'll find interesting, Snacky CC and I have already been thrashing that article out in the News section. Thanks for calling my attention to the tv-eh comments! Hope Kindle will let me view them...

Here's a couple more links I think you'll find interesting, Snacky. Very interesting! IMHO, they need to work on the relationship of the CBC to the public and govt. support first. Then there should be a common, neutral ratings system - but it should be nuanced to return different kinds of datasets. Some stats might actually favor the CBC model over the private media moguls. Also there needs to be a stronger PR machine- perhaps with a free review magazine. Adding to this now that I'm not writing in shorthand on my Kindle: It drove me nuts that I spent months writing Entertainment magazines in the US asking them to write a short piece - anything - to mention Murdoch Mysteries in the U.S. with nada response - then Orphan Black comes out of nowhere and gets showered with coverage EVERYWHERE!!! I had assumed MM was being ignored because it was Canadian and "The Artful Detective" (the American name) was airing on an obscure cable channel. But Orphan Black was also Canadian and airing on an obscure cable channel. So evidently there is a hidden PR machine and/or payola scheme going on somewhere there. I don't think the CBC should resort to payola. I think they should set the standard with their own arts coverage instead, and, in providing free content - INTERNATIONALLY - bring the audience to their mountain.

Bumping this thread for Oigirl: also noticed the last paste of the manifesto cut off the first 2 paragraphs! Glad I got a chance to find that out and fix it.
