I also thought about the wood chopping, while building their home, he just needs to get on with it, i really don't get the living in the Hotel thing. Julia must have several homes, why not live in one of those till he builds their dream home, and why are we not seeing location spots for site to build it, or seeing them discuss the building plans. All this should have been worked in during season 8, little by little, a glimpse here and there, would have been wondeful, and made such a difference. I've posted a number of times about the hotel. It's extremely historically accurate. William: Tesla lived in a hotel in New York so running a household wouldn't distract from his work. Julia: The key feminist philosopher of the period, Charlotte Perkins Gilman, lived in a hotel in New York after she was married to assert that household work should be handled by "professional staff" rather than enslave wives to do it. I'm actually against the house (though watching William working on it on occasion would be nice, hahaha) because it would involve servants. I believe Julia would be behind Gilman's idea that cooking and cleaning should evolve into service professions instead. Besides, hotel = permanent honeymoon!

Oh my Drowning don't you think they worked enough in this season they hardly had time for everything with all the different storylines. No wonder there was no Jilliam and most of the mysteries were less than stellar. Well they did manage to show William working on a whoopee cushion. They could have shown him in the office working on something for the house on the side...

Besides, hotel = permanent honeymoon! Well that hasn't really been the case in season 8 right?

Naw I'll admit, I was leery about the hotel thing at the beginning, but I am happy to say that I really like how it's worked out! As it turns out I actually prefer them in the hotel over a house.

That is true - but this has been my coping strategy with the way things have been this season. On the other hand I did not see any trouble in paradise either... And now after the season finale I have even more hope for the future.

This should probably be in the History section, however, since Julia referred to it in this episode, on this day in 1897, Torontonians voted in a plebiscite to allow streetcars to run on Sunday. The argument for it was exactly what Julia said to Miss Hamilton......

So I don't think it was mentioned who William voted for. You would think he'd be supporting Julia & the suffragettes but I got to thinking about the ballots. Since William cast his vote early do we think Margaret Haille was actually on the early ballot? You'd think she would have been forgotten on both and in that case William wouldn't have voted for her...

The hotel William and Julia were in most likely would have been in Toronto East, or possibly in Toronto Centre.

As a non-Canadian I assume that means William would have been voting for different candidates entirely? If so, excellent!
