From the CBC: Murdoch Mysteries (HD) (DV) - Series 11 - Eps 1 - Up From Ashes (Season Premiere) A jailed Murdoch must prove his innocence amid police and government corruption after the constables are ambushed, Ogden is kidnapped, and Brackenreid goes missing.
Doesn't tell us much, but it gets things going.

"Things aren't what they seem..." Very interesting. I've always liked Tamzin, so even without the drama, I would have been looking forward to this one.

That's an interesting theory. Certainly more plausible than having a "change of heart ".

She sounded exactly like the woman in the episode where Murdoch went to the Yukon after Julia married Darcy.

One of my favourite little tidbits was seeing Hodge again!
The episode was pretty fast paced, repeated viewing is a must!

Good episode as long as you don't dwell too long on some of the plot points. (Julia being dressed as a man was one in particular that was an intriguing idea but created a few unanswered questions.) Also realized at the end that they didn't really do anything what I would call 'Murdochian' in either episode. They used his recording device and he took fingermarks, but there wasn't anything 'invented' that helped Murdoch. This was a straight drama that didn't feel particularly specific to 'Murdoch Mysteries'. And as much as I enjoy Shantelle Bisson's enthusiasm, there was no way this was their "Game of Thrones" moment (killing off Jackson). I think most people saw that coming a mile away, and out of the 5 who were in peril, Jackson was arguably the most expendable.
Still, decent start to the new season. Murdoch better build that house, though, before the hotel kicks them out!

So, I've only had a chance to watch it once, but any thoughts on Miss Cherry? Or did I miss that part?

Murdoch better build that house, though, before the hotel kicks them out! What questions did it raise if I may ask? She had to be in disguise so that she wouldn't be found until she was ready. You're right in that Murdoch didn't do much, but I thought it apropos that he's rubbed off on them and that they employed his techniques to exonerate him. Was anyone else wondering about bullet proof vests? Agree that this was no Game of Thrones, and yeah, how have they not been kicked out yet?
