The sisters of the Immaculate Conception are preparing to lay Sister Ignatius to rest when they discover something untoward, something poking out of the dirt – a human hand. Murdoch attends the scene with a couple of Constables in tow; they lift out the body of the convent’s gardener. The body is not the only surprise in the convent.

So William is 34? Nice to meet more of his family.

Hmm. Somewhat of a disappointing episode. The murder itself was interesting enough but Williams relationship with his sister wasn't explored enough. And the ending to it was unduely sad. Nothing meaningful between William/Julia or anything funny from George. I would say this episode was more about crime than any of the characters. I had hoped for more.

Where are you getting that age, LIR? From things his sister says and then William says later. It seemed to confirm him as 34, unless I misunderstood.

Ah, gotcha. It seems funny to me since the actor is closer to 44 (he's 42, I think). But people aged more quickly back then, too.

He could be 37. I couldn't quite figure out if they were saying he was 37 or 34, that is why I asked if he was 34.

Oh wow, I was almost in tears at the end!! Murdoch/Yannick breaks my heart ♥ As lifeisridic said there was nothing between William and Julia... If I'm brutally honest I'm getting a little annoyed with it and I'm starting to think that nothing will happen between them again!! I did like the scene where William could hear George and Henry talking in the garden I think he is supposed to be 37? His sister said she left when he was 17, or something like that and they haven't seen each other in 20 years so one would assume that makes him 37

I think W/J will happen again. It just felt like this was a filler episode and they couldn't think of a way to have romantic tension for the 10th episode in a row. I expect the tension back next week as the letter issue has to come up before the finale, and there is only three episodes left.

I hope so, I miss the looks between them and the awkward moments

It has to be back next week or Julia has no reason to write the letter. Maybe Anna also played a part in slowing things down this week for W/J.

Is next week the vampire one? I was expecting that to show up at some point in this era. I'm sure they could work in Julia and William there. The one after that is the Kissing Bandit, which I think might be even easier to work in Julia's letter. I'm looking forward to seeing this one with William's sister, too. I'm curious what this dark mystery in William's past.
