I said somewhere before that I liken William and his hat to Samson and his hair in the bible. I identified 3 different types of William in relation to his hat: 1. William with his hat on: William is empowered and feels he can do anything. It’s like he is propelled by mystic powers. He is confident and feels invincible. 2. William without his hat: (He has taken it off himself and knows where it is) - William is comfortable and can be an everyday man or any man he wants. He can blend in anywhere. 3. William without his hat: (He can’t find it and doesn’t know where to look for it) - William is in all sorts of bother. He freaks out. Nicely summed up! Question: I know we have seen people hand William his hat, but have we EVER seen anyone other than William deliberately remove it?? Definitely an "all sorts of bother" scenario worthy of a fanfic. William takes his hat off all the time, especially when he is in the office. Sometimes he takes it off to greet someone, Ettie, etc., holds it in his hand or hangs it on a coat rack. He took his hat off and gave it to the butler in Upstairs/Downstairs. He took his hat off in I, Murdoch before he went in to dismantle Prof. Dolomor’s clock. All is well with him here. But in situations like in Ahoy, nothing gets done until that hat is found. I bet it was the first thing he told Brackenreid after he found out who he was in Murdoch Identity. I can only imagine how they would have badgered the British Constab to issue him a new kit asap to “make him whole again”.

Lol, the FB comments are finally referring to the "magic homburg". I know the edit issue was caught immediately but the mood is swinging towards it's magical powers.

Lol, the FB comments are finally referring to the "magic homburg". I the mood is swinging towards it's magical powers. I hope they also get that Yannick was creating a piece of art. Both the Spaghetti Western parody and the playing around with canon - fan trolling at the "meta" level were very artfully done. And the Magic Homburg as well as many of the usual stylistc flourishes were tres noir charmant!

I really hope this catches on because MM can use that iconic item reinforcement. The Magic Homburg is sort of like the Tardis on Dr. Who or the Stargate on Stargate or the lightsabers of Star Wars, etc. And it's on my t-shirt! Attachment Deleted

I am particularly fond of the image of William avec homberg in shadow profile just before he walks into SH4 at the end of The Murdoch Identity. Sadly, not enough time right now to cap it.

In speaking of plans - I need a graphic designer of a higher power than me. See attached t-shirt design for "A Clockwork Orange". I'm thinking that basic idea: the homburg, 2 (normal shaped) eyes, the tie. Possibly the Station House 4 badge I designed on the homburg. Picture on BACK of the shirt. Wouldn't that be an AWESOME shirt? It MUST be done, but my skills are Photoshop, and this is more Illustrator. Attachment Deleted

....and we're back to forum limit exceeded... Lol - what on earth did you post?! (I can't see on my Kindle, and I'm out all day today). I removed 3 animated gifs- that should have allowed us to attach random pics for a while. Anyway, this may become an ongoing crisis, so one thing you could do for your screencap project is get a photobucket account and upload the pics there instead of here. Then embed them here with the image button.
