Okay, it's called Double Life...so Lillian isn't who she claims to be, probably killed someone in her past doing radical stuff and then moved to Toronto under an assumed name. And then the secret comes out when she runs into a former associate of hers on the train. And then Emily has to lay down the law, hair pin style like she did with the 'zombie'.

On my third viewing......great episode with some interesting twists and turns......I won't spoil things, but George doesn't quite find happiness......(and, no, Lillian didn't do it.....) I've only seen it twice and it wasn't a big cinematic style opener this season, however as lizmc said interesting twists and turns and already more kisses that all of last season! Loved the scenes with Giles. I hope we get to see him again, he's mellowed, guess that's what jail does to you. I loved Giles, too! One thing isn't settling right with me. If George went through all the trouble to take the blame for Edna and Simon in the first place, why did he identify the scarf as Simon's? Even if he recognized it, wouldn't he have continued to hide that knowledge to protect Simon?

Anyway, it's good to be back. And now I can have my brain melted by Snacky and her amazingly long winded, somewhat crazy theories about everything. lol, I'm thinking of reducing my thoughts to hashtags. #teagownlove

Very satisfying. I can't give it "Best Episode Ever" award like some on Twitter want to do, but it was a very good ep. Regarding Twitter comments about the scarf proving the Tom Baker Dr. Who did it: I've documented evidence for Time Lords hanging out on MM in the Tumblr thread. Dr. Who might have been investigating the time/space warp around the House of Eternal Return. Most of the evidence points to Emily as a Time Lord, though. Perhaps Dr. Who and The Master weren't the only ones that escaped the Fall of Gallifrey after all!

Last year the Powers That Be were all about the chemistry between Edna and George, so perhaps Edna will return in the future!

So.... I would like to start by saying "welcome back, everyone." Also, I am exceedingly proud of myself for remaining spoiler free-I resisted the urge to spoil myself during my lunch break (which is right after the show finishes) like I usually do. Here are my thoughts from a single viewing! Loved all of the Jilliam both personally and professionally, and also loved the cuts-nice editing. I also had #teagownlove as well and also loved her hair fully down. But my single favorite moment (if I had to pick one) is when Giles created a distraction by starting a rumor that one prisoner was calling the mother of another a prostitute! Hah-so unlike Giles' former self, yet how he phrased it is so Giles. Loved it. I don't think the door has been closed on Gedna just yet-just a hunch from little things I've seen or heard. Nothing I can swear to however... No, it wasn't the epic cinematic opening of past few seasons, but I actually like it for that-it's more true to what the show is. Also noted was that there was more Jilliam in this single episode than there was in all of season 8. Okay, first dinner and then more viewings. But in a nutshell, I really enjoyed this ep and I'm looking forward to this season!

Good episode, but poor George and Edna. I guess we probably won't see her again. George must spend S9 single. W/J were adorable and I loved them working together and being nerds. I can't wait for more of that this season.
It seems like Emily will get to leave by her own choice. I have no idea what the train scene could be about. It also explains why Julia would take the coroner job again, she'll have no reason to be angry with the Toronto authorities.
I only have a couple of small grumbles for this episode: we could have done with more Emily and I was hoping we'd find out how long Giles is in prison and where Hodge is. Other than that it was a solid season opener and and I enjoyed more than I did last seasons. So good work, MM. You feel back on track.

But Edna on the run would've brought the truth to light anyway, I guess.

Running out of time here. Wishing I had more time to write.
Really liked this episode, will speak more about it later on today, after we've moved stuff back into our old house. Donno how long that's going to take.
But anyway. Giles my precious human being come get a hug. You too George. EVERYBODY GETS A HUG!
