Okay this is an out there thought: maybe George can find Edna when she comes to pick up some of her free bread loaves she won in season eight. After all she and Simon must need all the free food they can get in exile. lol!

".....I've asked Dr. Ogden to assist me" "Of course you have" MURDOCH FAMILY DOES SCIENCE AND IT IS REALLY ADORABLE WHEN THEY SAY WHAT THE GREASE/MOLD IS AT THE SAME TIME OKAY? BE STILL MY SHIPPING HEART!! That scene felt like a direct result of fan feedback: but it didn't come across as fan service at all. That was the Julia science-geeky involvement that has been essential to MM from the start, and this belongs in the show. Finally getting on with weighing in here.... What felt SO RIGHT to me was the way William discussed the case with Julia at home. He used to spend many, many long evenings puzzling things out in his office so it just makes sense for him to bring his puzzles home to work at after his 7 p.m. dinner with his number one puzzling partner.

It was really hard to keep my mouth shut all summer over the "Free Crabtree" hoopla. Hodge, Eus and I watched filming that day so we knew George was going to be released by the end of the first episode.
Nigel Bennett was magnificent. I love his character and his craft. It was a nice touch to include him in the case so that he didn't actually leave as a disgraced homosexual, but as a valued collegue.

I'm rewatching this season to update the spreadsheet and I just realized the actor who plays murdered jailbird Julian Foster is none other than Tony Munch, our fearless bumbling Det. MacDonald from Hangman. I find his voice quite distinctive.

Yeah, it took me most of the episode trying to figure where I knew him from, even though he was dead in the first few minutes.....so glad MM recycles......

Finally we get this in UK. Did Julia discover penicillin 25 years Alexander Fleming? Might have misheard but sure she said "it looks like penicillin" when looking at the cheese under the microscope.

GOOD CATCH!! Julia did say "it looks like penicillin". (Rushes to add this anomaly to the spreadsheet. )
