s Me too. every time I watch it is more apparent. LOL I think she did as well, but I'm not sure how much I'm supposed to read into it. It could be a stereotypical scene of the woman lusting after the diamond, but not Julia's not really prone to lusting after pricey baubles as a general rule. However, is this some foreshadowing of some sort? Will the diamond be back in some form? That is what I am hoping. I can think of all kinds of scenarios.

I thought this might perhaps allude to the financial stress of marrying someone without her means and the fact William is notoriously frugal. Perhaps her own engagement is an inexpensive one (despite the fact it looks like Darcy's and she was very eager to show it off). At the same time I have trouble imagining her caring: she was the "dowdy" dresser while Ruby was the one receiving baubles from International royalty. I noticed both rings looked similar also. I wondered because we know Julia did not have a say in choosing Williams. Maybe just a woman and diamonds thing but u really think we have not seen the last of this diamond. I would love to see them find a way to get Giles out. Trying to think how the diamond could figure into that. Guess I am now starting to think in fan fiction terms. I am really hooked LOL. Now when can I plan a trip to Toronto?

I just realized that George never said he loved Edna. He said he has the love of a good woman. I was watching Kung Fu Crabtree and he is so obviously in love with Emily. Not sure what that means but can anyone remember George saying he loves Edna? I know he called her his sweetheart and I think he feels compassion for her. But does he love her?

Can't remember if he ever said he loved her but I doubt he'd have proposed if he didn't.

He did ask Edna to marry him. And, IMHO he has a lot more physical chemistry with Edna. Emily was mean to George: I'll never understand that ship.

Lots of people come from all over the world for that. It is great fun and a great way to meet fellow fans.

Emily did sort of laugh at him but when I watch the shows following the break up he looks so sad. I like both scenarios but I would prefer Edna. Emily would be HIGH maintenance.

The scene at the end with the two of them drinking perfectly highlights why they work so much better as just friends.

I think this was from Julia...? Higgins said to William that the new tenant had been living in Edna's old apartment for 4 months. That must be how long George was locked up and Simon was living on the streets.

Okay this is an out there thought: maybe George can find Edna when she comes to pick up some of her free bread loaves she won in season eight. After all she and Simon must need all the free food they can get in exile.
