Ok, those who predicted no wedding yet were right. But there was big news for Brackenreid in this one. We should be seeing more about the impact on him and his family. I'm looking forward to that. So the Alibi episode guide is somewhat misleading/inaccurate. There was nothing regarding the letter under the ink blotter in this episode. Not quite sure what to think now about when the wedding is. It was not mentioned that Darcy and Julia's wedding is a week away so that part might not be accurate either. But nevertheless this was a great episode and the French detective was entertaining, esp opposite William. I love how Crabtree "invented" paint by numbers! And apparently Darcy did secure a job at Victoria Sick Children's Hospital but he did not appear in the episode.

Oh and because Julia didn't actually show up until about half way into the episode there wasn't much of her or she and William together. Although the French detective said he could tell they were in love with each other.

Sorry, was too tired to post last night. Have to say that didn't really enjoy this episode all that much, it seemed to be recycled from too many bits of other episodes and it had a guest character that I really didn't care for. People who have known Murdoch and Julia for any length of time know that they have deep feelings for each other. I can even buy Dr Francis noticing as he'd spent a lot of time with Murdoch if not Julia, but the french Inspector just strolling in spending a few minutes and noticing? Non! Also I didn't care for the way Julia started reacting a bit giddy around him, seemed out of character. He was, however, responsible for my favourite moment of the episode which was the double take that Murdoch does when first the female companion and then the wife come out of the bedroom. I liked the painting by numerical values and Higgins knowing french when George doesn't - "He just called you a little monkey!" Just a thought, but you may want to be a little be careful about posting where you obtain episodes from - as this is a public forum everyone can see - just to be on the safe side!

The discussions about the subway really made me smile. Currently there are, shall we say, negative opinions about the transit situation in Toronto (ie. quality of service). I personally take the subway almost everyday and don't dare think badly of it; if it weren't for the subway, I'd have a pretty tough time of getting to the university.
"Thomas, a century from now, when Toronto is a teeming metropolis, a young woman will be whisked effortlessly beneath the crowded street and she will give silent thanks to the man that made that possible. You let that be your legacy!"
Whereas I was pleased with the development of Brackenreid's story, I was quite disappointed about the William/Julia situation. Their story did not progress any further than the last episode. The French inspector, though, made some interesting comments; "[Julia] can be your mistress. Monsieur Murdoch, the marriage is about family; you make babies with your wife. But you make love to your mistress."
Telefacsimiles and painting my numbers; I love how MM so effortlessly incorporates these technologies into the show.
